Stories you haven't heard yet

on October 30, 2010

In case you thought you were alone, here's proof that you're not.   All around the country students and their partners are fighting for real food on campus, and beyond.  Here's a taste what folks in the RFC network are up to this semester:

What happens when your school's contract with Sodexo or Aramark or Chartwells is up?

  • Students at University of Central Florida, Mizzou, Western Washington University, and Carroll College in Montana are facing this same dilemma, and have decided that students deserve a voice in the process!  They're working with their university administrators to make sure that for whoever gets the next contract to run the schools' cafeterias, real food is a major part of the equation.

But many of us aren't waiting for contracts and bidding processes to get to work:

  • Students at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Stetson University (FL) and Carleton College (MN)  are just a few that are shedding light on their schools' purchasing records with our Real Food Calculator to figure out where exactly our food dollars are going.  Find out how you can too:

Now, for all you college graduates: Ahhhhh!  Where to go? What to do?

Not to worry!  Link up with our brand new RFC Alumni Network and get connected with amazing young leaders who are leading the next wave of the food movement.  Register here:
